Description of problem: /etc/rc.d/init.d/kdump contains references to /etc/kdump-adv-conf/initramfs.conf. However, kexec-tools ships without a initramfs.conf. It's not obvious what that file could be used for (I guess it is used to pull in the stuff now provided in /etc/kdump-adv-conf/). More importantly, it is unclear how one should write that file oneself. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kexec-tools-2.0.0-46.fc16 How reproducible: n/a Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info: Somehow kexec-tools should provide hints how to use initramfs.conf, for example by providing a sample under /usr/share/doc/kexec-tools-2.0.0/ or perhaps by shipping some no-op version in /etc/kdump-adv-conf/.
re-assigning to amwang, who is transitioning into the fedora lead for kexec-tools
This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.
We will totally switch to dracut in Fedora 16, so no need to provide docs for the currently initramfs code. See also https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/NewMkdumprd
