does anybody care about this issue?
I also have also experienced this issue on IBM X41 on a fresh Fedora 14 install. from lspci: 00:1e.2 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03) I have installed kernel latest Fedora 14 2.6.35 kernel but also tried with 3.0 kernel from Rawhide, and they both have this issue. This looks like alsa bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/246800 And also on Ubuntu forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1159013
Should I open a separate bug for Fedora 14?
Created attachment 511568 [details] # grep -i alsa /var/log/messages > alsa-ibm-x41.txt Here are messages from Fedora 14 running 3.0 kernel
Follow the steps here http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SoundTroubleshooting and here http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_PulseAudio_problems and attach all output.
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SoundTroubleshooting should probably be merged with https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_sound_problems ...
Created attachment 511582 [details] Pulseaudio log Thanks Brendan and Adam, here are the steps I did and got a pulseaudio log file. pulseaudio -k pulseaudio -vvv &> pulseaudio-vvv
can you please attach the file generated by running alsa-info
Created attachment 511638 [details] alsa-info.sh --no-upload
Can you execute rm -r ~/.pulse* pulseaudio -k pulseaudio -vvv Run gnome-volume-control to ensure that your intel card is selected as default.
Is this still a problem?
Fedora 15 has reached it's end of life as of June 26, 2012. As a result, we will not be fixing any remaining bugs found in Fedora 15. In the event that you have upgraded to a newer release and the bug you reported is still present, please reopen the bug and set the version field to the newest release you have encountered the issue with. Before doing so, please ensure you are testing the latest kernel update in that release and attach any new and relevant information you may have gathered. Thank you for taking the time to file a report. We hope newer versions of Fedora suit your needs.
