Cause: Some applications required more flexible control over acknowledgements. Consequence: It was not possible to acknowledge all messages up to a specific message (except by acknowledging each message individually or by acknowledging all fetched messages). Change: A method was added to the API to allow cumulative acknowledgement up to a given message. Result: The flexibility of acknowledgement was improved to cover this case.

The feature has been implemented and it's proved to be functional on RHEL 5.7 /
