Description of problem: Full sealert description is copied to copy buffer instead of selected text. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): setroubleshoot-server-2.2.94-1.el6.x86_64 How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Do something to generate a SELinux Security Alert 2. Open the sealert GUI, select a string of any legth of the description (top part, not of "full error output". Press ctrl+c, crtl+ins. 3. Open other application, for example gedit. Paste clipboard buffer. Actual results: The "full error output" text is copied to clipboard and pasted to target application. Expected results: Only selected text area should be copied. [Copy to Clipboard] button's alt text says it's copying full description, which is OK. Additional info: Especially annoying when trying to copy one line and paste it to IRC client... :) Usability bug.
Fixed in setroubleshoot-3.0.38-1.el6
I am unable to verify this bug because new sealert GUI is different from the old one. I tried to copy some test from the sealert window and it is not working properly: - I am able to copy the text from the Details window (both with Ctrl-C;Ctrl-V and Ctrl+Insert;Shift+Insert) - I am NOT able to copy the text from the "Troubleshoot/Then this is a solution" field. Ctrl+Insert;Shift+Insert. But Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V works. setroubleshoot-server-3.0.38-2.1.el6.x86_64
Re #c6 There is a typo, should be - I am NOT able to copy the text from the "Troubleshoot/Then this is a solution" field with Ctrl+Insert;Shift+Insert. But Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V works.
This is a standard text window in X. I am not sure why other mechanisms other then Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V would or would not work. Those are the only ones I use.
