How reproducible:

yum list gnome-schedule...will find gnome-schedule
yum install gnome-schedule will not find gnome-schedule thus will not install

Steps to Reproduce:

3.

Actual results:

yum install will not find gnome-schedule

Yum install installing gnome-schedule

Additional info:

When I run yum here it says:

% sudo yum install gnome-schedule
Setting up Install Process
Package gnome-schedule-2.0.2-6.fc15.noarch is obsoleted by gnome-panel-3.0.0.1-4.fc15.x86_64 which is already installed
Nothing to do

Gnome-Schedule is not Gnome-Panel. Gnome-Schedule is a GUI Cron Scheduler.

I have successfully installed it too many time, most recently on Fedora 14 (from Fedora Repo) and RHEL6.1 (from RPM).

I have attached a screenshot of what I am seeing. Please look into this further.

If you think the obsoletes is an error, you need to open a bug with gnome-panel to get them to remove it (or fix it or something). But from yum's POV everything is working as intended.

Comment 5 Scott Weigand 2011-06-01 15:55:25 UTC
I'll open a ticket regarding Gnome-Panel. However, I am not sure what you're doing, but in the attached screenshot I am not seeing any mention of gnome-panel thus this ticket is still a valid issue.

I have outlined the steps, attached a screenshot. Have some others try it.

Comment 6 James Antill 2011-06-01 16:15:23 UTC
The error message is probably a difference between the F15 yum and upstream. I'll leave this bug open, but we haven't been rebasing yum in released Fedora's.

This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.

Comment 8 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 20:01:38 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
