After using my Thinkpad T43p (which has an i915) for a while, I get weird corruption of characters on screen. For example, the "n" letter could have a "line" cut through it and every occurrence of the letter "n" on the screen would look like that.

Yes, the bug in the upstream bugzilla has much more life to it, and we believe that it is more appropriate to let it be resolved there.

We will continue to track the issue in the centralized upstream bug tracker, and will review any bug fixes that become available for consideration in future updates.
