Comment 1 Jan F. Chadima 2011-06-02 13:00:30 UTC
there is ssh v1 suport separated by the compilation switch .. should be switched on or off?

Comment 2 Tomas Mraz 2011-06-02 18:45:43 UTC
I'd vote for leaving the ssh v1 support out. It is insecure anyway so nobody should use it. If there will be high demand for it it can be enabled at any time.

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2011-06-02 19:09:32 UTC
I'd concur at least wrt rawhide. I could probably be talked into that for f15 too.

Comment 4 Jan F. Chadima 2011-06-03 03:50:55 UTC
it would be very nice when protocol v1 was put in separate additional libraries so the end user has a choice to or not to install it.
Some projects prefer to not use protocol v1 (majority) but for some it is useful to have it enabled (medusa).

Comment 5 Andreas Schneider 2011-06-06 15:12:17 UTC
SSHv1 is insecure and should be used. We only still have it cause some people use it to administrate cisco users. We don't encourage to use it and therefore it is disabled by default. I don't think that it should be shipped with any Linux distribution.

Comment 7 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 20:22:05 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
