Description Mac 2011-06-06 13:13:02 UTC
Description of problem:Winzip error message "Error: Winzip only supports IMG files that are in the ISO format" Downloaded Fedora 14 and Fedora 15 zip file which unzips into EFI Folder, isolinux Folder, and LiveOS folder. Attempts to unzip files in each of these folder results in the Winzip Error Message and can not extract files.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 14, Fedora 15

How reproducible:Download Fedora zip file, extract contents from the zip file. Result shows 3 folders: EFI Folder, isolinux Folder, and LiveOS folder. Open any folder and try to unzip any winzip file using Winzip. (Have used the most current version of Winzip.)

Steps to Reproduce:
1.From http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora download a fedora ISO image
2.Extract Fedora-15-i686-Live-Desktop
3.Open any folder and use Winzip to try and extract zip files e.g. squashfs

Actual results:Winzip error message "Error: Winzip only supports IMG files that are in the ISO format"

Expected results:Expect to extract all ziped file contents to burn to a boot CD or DVD.

Sorry, we don't have winzip's source code, so we can't fix it.
Extracting the files to a CD isn't the correct way to burn it anyway, because it won't include the boot sector. (and squashfs is not a zip file)

More information on how to burn the CD: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/14/html/Burning_ISO_images_to_disc/index.html (says 14 but is relevant for 15 as well) .

If you encounter a problem while burning the CD, try using one of our support resources, https://fedoraproject.org/get-help
