Created attachment 504605 [details] OpenOffice-writer - Yellow Line with SquareBox and Default font for text Description of problem: default fonts are not selected for Marathi (mr_IN) and Malayalam (ml_IN), during start of application (oowriter), but Default font selected is "DejaVu LGC Sans". Problem is Square box Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): fonts-hindi-2.3.1.1-2.el5 openoffice.org-writer-3.1.1-19.5.el5_5.6 fontconfig-2.4.1-7.el5 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. set language mr_IN (or ml_IN) 2. $LANG=mr_IN.UTF-8 oowriter 3. check default fonts Actual results: it is "DejaVu LGC Sans" Expected results: it should be Lohit Additional info: $fc-match lohit_hi.ttf: "Lohit Hindi" "Regular"

The same behavior is happening for or_IN and as_IN as well for oowriter, oocalc and ooimpress.
Presumably this is unchanged since RHEL-5 was released, can't see why its suddenly an issue now. Shouldn't the focus be on >= RHEL-6 ?
