Description of problem: In the following text from the man page: 1, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 default Use the new version-1 format superblock. This has fewer restrictions. It can easily be moved between hosts with different endian-ness, and a recovery operation can be checkpointed and restarted. The different sub-versions store the superblock at different locations on the device, either at the end (for 1.0), at the start (for 1.1) or 4K from the start (for 1.2). "1" is equivalent to "1.0". "default" is equivalent to "1.2". tt is incorrect that 1 is equivalent to 1.0. It is in fact equivalent to 1.2. I wanted to use 1.0 for partitions that grub needed to access and I noticed that using -e 1 wasn't doing what I expected based on the man page. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mdadm-3.1.5-2.fc15.x86_64 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info:
