Created attachment 511104 [details] Backtrace Description of problem: When clicking on the Device Viewer in KInfoCenter, the program crashes or freezes. Removal of NetworkManager seems to fix the problem, but reduces the OS's functionality. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): KDE 4.6.3 (kdebase-workspace-4.6.3-5.fc15.x86_64) Network Manager 4.git20110620.fc15 How reproducible: Reproducibly crashed at first, then became reproducibly unresponsive. I don't know what changed. After removing NetworkManager via yum, kinfocenter works as expected. Reinstalling NetworkManager causes the bug to return. Steps to Reproduce: 1. K Menu -> System -> KInfoCenter 2. Device Information 3. Device Viewer Actual results: Crash or unresponsive. Expected results: Device list in right pane. Additional info: Reported as KDE bug 276982. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=276982 Entries from /var/log/messages that may be relevant: Jul 3 16:40:43 localhost dbus: [system] Rejected send message, 3 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.184" (uid=501 pid=7144 comm="/usr/bin/kinfocenter ") interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" member="Get" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager" (uid=0 pid=7145 comm="/usr/sbin/NetworkManager --no-daemon ")) Jul 3 16:40:43 localhost NetworkManager[7145]: <error> [1309725643.9540] [nm-dbus-manager.c:332] nm_dbus_manager_start_service(): Could not acquire the NetworkManager service.#012 Error: 'Rejected send message, 3 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.184" (uid=501 pid=7144 comm="/usr/bin/kinfocenter ") interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" member="Get" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager" (uid=0 pid=7145 comm="/usr/sbin/NetworkManager --no-daemon "))'
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version' of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX. (Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.) Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
