Description of problem: Kernel panic shows up and the system hangs if one press CTRL-ALT-Del during the instalation in EFI environment. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHEL 6.1 RC3/GA How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. setup BIOS to EFI 2. start installation from CD 3. when installer is loading press CTRL-ALT-Del in order to reboot Actual results: system hangs up and kernel panic appears Expected results: system is rebooted Additional info:

Can you try booting with reboot=a as a kernel parameter?

reboot=a causes normal reboot, and panic does not show up.

Hello, Intel I have tried to reproduce this bug on both a IBM x3550 and an Intel SDP system, but failed. Could I have your tested system model? If we does not have one in house, would you please help us test this patch? Thanks, Botu Sun

Platform I have is a Romley Server, I will try again with the latest bios and I let you know.

Sorry, I was on a leave last week. Nothing changed so far and new bios does not resolve problem. Sometimes panic does not occur but machine hangs after "Restarting System" message (ie. in the same place as panic appears).
