Description of problem: In both a clean Fedora 15 install and an upgrade from Fedora 14, cups is unable to print on Xerox Network Printers. My problem is specific to Xerox WorkCentre 7232/7242. In Fedora 14 it was working fine. I have tested this with all the drivers released by Xerox. All of them work in Fedora 14 and none of them works in Fedora 15. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): cups-1.4.7-3.fc15.x86_64 How reproducible: ALWAYS Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure Xerox Network printer with any protocol (socket, ipp, ldp,... doesn't matter, none of them will work) 2. Install any Xerox driver for the printer, or even a generic one. 3. Try to print anything. 4. cups responds "/usr/lib/cups/backend/socket failed" or similar all the time Actual results: Printer communication fails miserably. Expected results: Printing should work. Additional info: I have disabled SELinux to do the tests, but changes nothing. I have tested printing in a Canon Network Printer and it works properly. Sounds like bug #719057. What does 'rpm -q cups' say? Does this update fix it?: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/cups-1.4.7-9.fc15
cups-1.4.7-3.fc15.x86_64 (I already gave it in the ticket description) And yes, that package fixes the issue. Thank you!
