Hi Dave, there is not much use filing the same bug again and again. I am aware of it, however I wonder why you are the only one to report it. Is there anything special about your hardware?

Dave, there *really+ is no use reporting this over and over again. Can you . :) Can you give me a link to your smolt profile so we can see what hardware you are using? What mixer are you using? Does it work correctly?
(In reply to comment #6) > How to reproduce > ----- > 1.rhythmbox, and mixer Can you tell me a little more about this?
Package: volumeicon-0.4.1-2.fc14 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) How to reproduce ----- 1.uninstall volumeicon - reboot - re-install volumeicon - logout log in - crash 2. 3.
Uninstalling wont help. Can you try pnmixer instead?
Sorry about reporting - I was seeing kernel boot up problems and other boot up error problems. I just reported all the boot problems. I backed up all and re-installed Fedora 14 again to clear up the many problems I had. I changed my output to 7.1 output on a program I don't exactly remember and that began my problems. Won't do that again. If it ain't broke don't fix it! I won't fix it this time. All is back to normal. On boot up I was seeing kernel errors and I thought that was serious enough to report. I wasn't sure if the kernel errors were that same every time. Again won't do that again! I love Fedora 14 but upgrade to Fedora 15 and I have many errors. I am staying with Fedora 14 for now. When I get the money I'll up grade to RHEL Red Hat from sister Fedora. How do I do this. I still would like you all to see my architecture. Can you give me a link to your smolt profile so we can see what hardware you are using? What mixer are you using? Does it work correctly? Sincerely Dave Galloway
How do I do this is : Can you give me a link to your smolt profile so we can see what hardware you are using? What mixer are you using? Does it work correctly? Not upgrade to RHEL Red Hat, Sorry.
Thanks for the feedback, David. No need to apologize for reporting bugs. The opposite is true: We need bug reports, otherwise we cannot fix the bugs. When you report a bug, please try to provide as much information as possible. (In reply to comment #17) > I backed up all and > re-installed Fedora 14 again to clear up the many problems I had. Ans the problem now is gone although you have still installed volumeicon? Please note that volumeicon for Fedora 14 is still in the updates-testing repository. Did you install if from there on purpose or did you have have the updates-testing repository enabled generally? If you do and do a full update then. you might hit a bad package or some incompatibilities. This might explain the problems you had. Only use updates-testing if you know what you do. I changed my > output to 7.1 output on a program I don't exactly remember and that began my > problems. I guess it was the PulseAudio mixer 'pavucontrol'. > I love Fedora 14 but upgrade to Fedora 15 and I have many errors. I am staying > with Fedora 14 for now. Sure. Just confirm that you don't have any more problems with volumeicon on Fedora 14 now. > When I get the money I'll up grade to RHEL Red Hat from sister Fedora. Have you considered CentOS? > How do I do this. I'm afraid you cannot upgrade because RHEL/CentOS 6 are based on Fedora 12, so you actually downgrade. Better back up your home directory and make a fresh install . If you allowed Fedora to gather smolt data, your information is in /etc/smolt/hw-uuid.
