qemu-0.15 now comes with (the long awaited) usb2 emulation / passthrough support. enabling this requires creating 4 devices from the cmdline, the ehci controler itself and its 3 companion controllers, like this: -device ich9-usb-ehci1,addr=1d.7,multifunction=on,id=ehci -device ich9-usb-uhci1,addr=1d.0,multifunction=on,id=uhci-1,masterbus=ehci.0,firstport=0 -device ich9-usb-uhci2,addr=1d.1,multifunction=on,id=uhci-2,masterbus=ehci.0,firstport=2, -device ich9-usb-uhci3,addr=1d.2,multifunction=on,id=uhci-3,masterbus=ehci.0,firstport=4
Hi Hans, first step here is to file an RFE with libvirt since it does all of virt-manager's command line generation.

doh, sorry Hans! thought it was a virt-manager report!
Quick note, I just got a mail from bz that this got assigned to Osier Yang, Marc-André Lureau is also working on this to get it into Fedora 16, please coordinate with him.
I didn't known before seeing mail from Marc-André Lureau in libvir-list, took this as there is a same bug against RHEL assigned to me, will coordinate with him.
sent patches to libvir-list ML.
Nice feature. I would welcome it, too. Thanks.
All USB patches are available in libvirt v0.9.5-rc1. Should we close this bug Hans?
(In reply to comment #8) > All USB patches are available in libvirt v0.9.5-rc1. Thanks, that is very good news! > Should we close this bug Hans? I don't see any 0.9.5 build in koji yet, I think it is best to just make the 0.9.5 update in bodhi autoclose this.
Please release 0.9.5 closing this bug (comment #9)
Been upstream for a long time
