Hi David, thanks for the report. This one looks like a bug in ardour. Could you carry this query to the ardour developers? ardour is actively maintained and the people who are actually programming it might help you easier and faster. Thank you.
Thanks for the tip, Orcan. You say "carry this query". Is there a standard way of doing that? I am very new to all of this bug reporting stuff.
Different projects prefer different type of communication. The best way of finding it out is going to their website. For instance, for ardour, you go to http://ardour.org/ There is a "support" link on top. When you click on it, you will see "issue tracker" on top this time. There you can sign up for a new account, and post your problem. The developers would typically ask you questions and give you instructions to test stuff. By eliminating the middle man (me), things might go faster. From my experience, I can say that, if you don't contact the developers directly, your issue might or might not get resolved by the Fedora package maintainers (just a reminder, Fedora package maintainers are _usually_ not the actual developers of your software). In either case it is safe to post the bug report here first. Please provide them your ardour version, OS version, jack version and the backtrace to begin with. If a solution is found, you can let us know here in this bug by giving a link. I hope this cleared the confusion about the process for you. Thank you for your time.
OK. Thanks, Orcan. I've submitted this to the Ardour bug team.
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version' of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX. (Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.) Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
