Description Dan Hollis 2002-08-26 07:04:59 UTC
Description of Problem:
Installer is non-dvdrom-aware.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How Reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put all RH install CDs on a single DVD-RW
2. Boot DVD on a PC
3. Run the installer.

Actual Results:
Installer ejects DVD and requests to "insert disc 2" when all files are ALREADY
on the same media. Eg all the .disc1-i386 - .disc5-i386 are present in the root,
as well as all files in /RedHat from all combined CD images.

Expected Results:
installer should notice that all the required files are already on the same
media, it should not eject the DVD and it should not request the next disc. It
should just automatically start reading the rest of the files.

Additional Information:

Comment 1 Michael Fulbright 2002-08-26 18:39:30 UTC
We do not plan on supporting this manner of DVD install.
