RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2011:1696 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE python-rhsm bug fix update 2011-12-06 00:49:52 UTC

Description Perry Myers 2011-09-06 21:28:27 UTC
Description of problem:
For using python-rhsm to register with Hosted candlepin, we need the following certificates to connect:

/etc/rhsm/ca/candlepin-stage.pem
/etc/rhsm/ca/fakamai-cp1.pem
/etc/rhsm/ca/redhat-uep.pem

These certs are in the subscription-manager rpm, but RHEVH doesn't need that rpm (and it pulls in deps like yum, which we also can't use). So it would be better to move these from s-m to python-rhsm

0507fb7a6103963f8f9ed4f9e0bb8a934f517124 python-rhsm master 0.96.12+

Comment 3 John Sefler 2011-09-23 14:25:27 UTC
Verifying Version...
[root@jsefler-onprem-62server ~]# rpm -q python-rhsm subscription-manager
python-rhsm-0.96.12-1.el6.noarch
subscription-manager-0.96.11-1.el6.x86_64

[root@jsefler-onprem-62server ~]# rpm -ql python-rhsm | grep .pem
/etc/rhsm/ca/candlepin-stage.pem
/etc/rhsm/ca/redhat-uep.pem
[root@jsefler-onprem-62server ~]# rpm -ql subscription-manager | grep .pem
[root@jsefler-onprem-62server ~]#

^^^ Notice the ca certificates are now delivered with the python-rhsm and not the subscription-manager package.

Also note that the /etc/rhsm/ca/fakamai-cp1.pem certificate was removed. This was really used as part of a test environment and is not necessary in the stage/production environment.
