Description Hugh Pearse 2011-09-30 15:31:35 UTC
Description of problem:
There are several errors after following the installation instructions.

1) When synchronizing repositories with the GUI there is a red error message:
"The scheduling service appears down. Please contact your Satellite administrator." but when using spacewalk-repo-sync there is no error.

2) Scheduled software installations fail and give the error "Fatal error in Python code occured [[6]]".

3) A mail is recieved from nocpulse every 15 minutes saying "eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found Use of chdir('') or chdir(undef) as chdir() is deprecated at /usr/bin/monitor-queue line 45."

4) There are errors in the logfile /var/log/rhn/rhn_taskomatic_daemon.log
"INFO | jvm 1 | 2011/09/22 11:45:14 | Sep 22, 2011 11:45:14 AM redstone.xmlrpc.XmlRpcDispatcher writeError"

Comment 1 Jan Pazdziora 2011-10-02 12:25:55 UTC
The taskomatic on Fedora 15 issue is fixed (and patch available) in bug 732350.

The monitoring issue is addressed (as you point out) in bug 723899.

For the Fatal error in Python code occured [[6]] error, please run and post output of rhn_check -vv.

I'm going to close this bug as duplicate of 732350.

We prefer when one bugzilla per issue is filed, instead of mixing various issues and various components in one bug report.
