Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 746740
Include in Live CD Distribution
Last modified: 2012-01-12 00:00:20 EST
Description of problem: Live CD (i686) (BitTorrent) does not contain GCC and Open Office(or any other word processor). Important for a programmer and for Office Work.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 15
How reproducible: NA
Steps to Reproduce:
Actual results: Not available
Expected results: Include GCC and a word processor in Fedora 16 (live CD).
Additional info: The Live CD (i686) (BitTorrent) is less than 600 MB. A Little more could have been squeezed in as an average blank writable CD is of 700MB.
A 100 MB more does not make much of a difference while downloading more than 300MB.
openoffice does not fit.
gcc would seem really wierd to ship on the live cd
libreoffice is too big to fit on CD sized images. The main CD images aren't specifically targeting developers so that gcc isn't needed and is unlikely to be included.
The CD sized desktop spin used to include abiword. I don't see it called out directly now.
