After installing the application I ran it from the Applications menu. It immediately crashes without showing any form of UI.

1. install childplay (with apper)
2. click "childplay" in window shown after installation
3. childplay doesn't open any windows, abrt report bug.

Comment 6 Marian Csontos 2011-12-13 17:39:03 UTC
sqlalchemy 0.7 does not have sqlalchemy.exceptions as module. Simply replacing the import in the file helps:

-import sqlalchemy.exceptions as sqlae
+from sqlalchemy import exceptions as sqlae

Upstream already handles this but the code is rather diverse.

Comment 9 Hans de Goede 2011-12-19 08:45:21 UTC
Hi All,

Thanks for reporting this to all of you. I somehow completely missed this bug report so far. Sorry about that.

I did notice another report about the same bug though, bug 767799, and I have prepared an update fixing this based on that report, which since it is the same bug should fix the issue you are seeing too :)

To get the update do:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing childsplay-1.6-3.fc16'
as soon as you are able to.

Then please go to the following url:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2011-17149/childsplay-1.6-3.fc16
log in and leave karma (feedback).

Thanks & Regards,

Hans
