Description Daniel 2011-11-07 10:31:26 UTC
keepass 2.x works nicely in Fedora 15 using the portable edition and mono to run it.
see http://keepass.info/help/v2/setup.html#mono for details.

keepass 2.17 has a single dependency in Fedora 15:
mono-winforms

I didn't test the auto-type feature, as I don't use it, but with an additional dependency on xdotool it might work, too

Comment 1 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 16:16:19 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2013-07-04 05:49:18 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 17 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 17. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '17'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life.

Do you plan on upgrading to version 2.x? It certainly has many more features that would make it more useful.

Comment 4 Aurelien Bompard 2013-09-19 05:18:11 UTC
Well, Keepass and KeepassX are two different projects. KeepassX is currently packaged at the latest stable version, 0.43 (version 2.0 is in alpha).
But since you're talking about Mono I assume you're talking about the original Keepass project. I've never tried it. Do you think it should replace the current keepassx pacakge? I think it should be a separate pacakge, development of keepassx is still active (slow, but active): https://gitorious.org/keepassx/keepassx/commits

Comment 5 Simão Afonso 2013-11-05 21:10:49 UTC
I would really like to have KeePass 2.x packaged, since KeeFox depends on it.
http://keefox.org/
KeeFox works well with KP2 on Mono

Comment 6 Andriy 2013-12-29 22:36:52 UTC
keepass 2 using mono should not replace keepassx. I think keepassx alpha is good enough. I am using it (compiled from source) since alpha 2 without problems and hope that policy "Staying close to upstream projects" will be kept and the package will appear soon ;-)

Comment 7 Peter Oliver 2014-04-18 23:19:31 UTC
I'm looking at packaging KeePass 2 for Fedora.
