mod_perl crashed when attempting to start httpd

kernel: [ 3638.686426] httpd[14516]: segfault at d ip 008279f5 sp bffb2d20 error 4 in mod_perl.so[80b000+33000]

Steps to Reproduce:
1. minimal fresh install of fedora 16
2. installed mod_perl
3. systemctl start httpd.service
4. segfault in mod_perl
