Description of problem: yum install amanda-client brings in amanda-server via the perl(Amanda::Logfile) dep in /usr/sbin/amanda_client. For now I think perl(Amanda::Logfile) needs to be moved into the amanda package. But I'm not sure that amdump_client should be using Amanda::Logfile at all as I wouldn't think any amanda logs would be on the client. On closer inspection it seems to only use the Amanda::Logfile::match_disk function which probably should be moved into Amanda::Utils. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.3.0-2.fc16

with amanda-3.3.0-3.fc16 I was able to rpm -e amanda-server from a client box as expected. Did not comment in Bodhi yet, as I am still chasing why my amanda-2.6.1p2-7.el6.x86_64 on the server fails to backup the one machine in this network freshly installed with F16. (worked fine up to F15 and I copied over .amandahosts and exclude.gtar from the F15 /)
amanda 3 defaults to bsdtcp auth over TCP rather than bsdudp auth over udp. You may need to modify the /etc/xinetd.d/amanda file on the F16 or change the server to use bsdtcp to that host.
amanda-3.3.0-3.fc16 has been pushed to the Fedora 16 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
The patch was incorrectly applied. http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/scm-commits/2011-November/687811.html only changes Logfile.swg and Util.swg, not the underlying C files. Those need to be regenerated with SWIG and the resulting diffs patched, as well. The failure to do so has led to undefined-subroutine errors while running Amanda: http://marc.info/?t=136240981300003&r=1&w=2
I'm updating to 3.3.1 in f17 to address this.
