Description of problem: After replacing xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.14.2-2.20110727git8c9266ed2.fc17 with xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.14.3-2.fc17 my X server fails to start. Xorg.0.log just stops in a location when one would expect to see a line "(II) RADEON(0): Creating default Display subsection in Screen section". Video hardware is "ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 PRO]" on x86_64 mobo. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.14.3-2.fc17 (actually anything which was updating 6.14.2-2.20110727git8c9266ed2.fc17) xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.11.99.1-6.20111109.fc17 How reproducible: always Additional info: This was already failing earlier but on previous update attempts I was getting a strange mixture of updated and non-updated 'xorg-x11-drv*' and 'xorg-x11-server*' packages due to failed dependencies. Downgrading xorg-x11-drv-ati to 6.14.2-2.20110727git8c9266ed2.fc1, xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.11.1-2.fc17 and other packages to satisfy dependencies makes X server to start again.

Created attachment 534481 [details] Xorg.0.log after downgrading xorg-x11-drv-ati and xorg-x11-server-Xorg
Updating to xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.11.99.1-7.20111109.fc17 _and_ xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.14.3-2.fc17 makes X to work again. I guess that the following from a package changelog: * Mon Nov 21 2011 Adam Jackson <ajax> 1.11.99.1-7 - Restore DRI1 until drivers are properly prepared for it would provide this secret sauce.
