Description of problem: libvirt uses paused state instead of shutdown for the case when qemu stops guest cpus at the end of shutdown and waits for libvirt to kill it. as a result, vm goes to pause just before the shutdown, which causes confusion to users wondering why vm goes to pause. vdsm-4.9.1-0.56.g3699501.el6.x86_64 libvirt-0.9.4-16.el6.x86_64 qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.193.el6.x86_64 kernel-2.6.32-202.el6.x86_64 repro steps: - start vm - shutdown vm /var/log/libvirtd.log-20111130.xz:16:03:21.067: 31226: debug : qemuProcessHandleStop:494 : Transitioned guest upsteam-rhel6-08 to paused state, reason=shutdown
