Description Youssef Makki 2002-10-16 15:57:27 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020830

Description of problem:
When xmms, with the xosd plugin installed from
http://psyche.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=111 , is launched from menu -> sound &
video it loads then just hangs. xmms loads fine if launched from a terminal.
I uninstalled xosd-xmms-1.0.4-fr1.i386.rpm just to be sure, xmms worked fine
after that.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install xosd-xmms-1.0.4-fr1.i386.rpm from freshrpms.net
2. launch xmms from menu -> sound & video -> audio player
3. xmms loads then freezes

Additional info:

Immediately after a fresh install of the xosd-xmms package, xmms will launch
successfully, but will crash when attempting to configure the plugin in the
preferences dialog.

Comment 1 Bill Nottingham 2002-10-16 16:09:46 UTC
This sounds like an issue with that particular plugin. Maybe it hangs when
stdin/stdout/stderr is not a tty?

In any case, this doesn't look like an xmms bug.

Comment 2 Youssef Makki 2002-10-16 17:08:54 UTC
I've always used this plugin (same version in all cases) and never encountered
any problems until xmms-1.2.7-13.p.
arts-1.0.3-1
xmms-1.2.7-13.p
xmms-mp3-1.2.7-13.p
xosd-1.0.4-fr1
xosd-xmms-1.0.4-fr1
Just wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing this behaviour.
Thanks.
