Description of problem: I cannot install freetype devel Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: yum install freetype-devel-2.4.6-3.fc16.x86_64 Steps to Reproduce: 1. yum install freetype-devel-2.4.6-3.fc16.x86_64 Actual results: Plugin abilitati:langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit Impostazione processo di installazione Risoluzione dipendenze --> Esecuzione del controllo di transazione ---> Package freetype-devel.x86_64 0:2.4.6-3.fc16 will be installato --> Elaborazione dipendenza: freetype = 2.4.6-3.fc16 per il pacchetto: freetype-devel-2.4.6-3.fc16.x86_64 --> Esecuzione del controllo di transazione ---> Package freetype.i686 0:2.4.6-3.fc16 will be installato --> Risoluzione delle dipendenze completata Errore: Protected multilib versions: freetype-2.4.6-3.fc16.i686 != freetype-2.4.6-4.fc16.x86_64 Expected results: Additional info: fedora 16 64 bit
Hi Ruggero, you have to install the freetype-devel this way: "yum install freetype-devel.x86_64" It seems that you already have freetype-2.4.6-4.fc16.x86_64 installed which is newer than freetype-2.4.6-3.fc16.i686. If you need the older freetype-devel, you can downgrade it after the installation together with freetype or downgrade your freetype at first and then install the older version of freetype-devel. Could you set LC_ALL to en_US (export LC_ALL="en_US") before running yum and send the log again? I don't speak Italian.

It is strange. Try to run "yum clean all" before the install of freetype-devel. If it doesn't help, downgrade your freetype "yum downgrade freetype*". And even if this doesn't help. Paste here what "rpm -qa | grep freetype" returns to you. Marek

I'm closing this because you are able to install the freetype-devel now.
