The RHEL/CentOS 5 distros ship 3.0.6 as the latest update. Many admins shy-away from adding 3rd party repos if they don't have to (and will get serious hate and discontent if they try getting help in #centos if they do). Looking through the 3.0.7 release notes, I don't see anything that should be critical for making geo-replicate work. Can this version requirement be downgraded to 3.0.6?
(In reply to comment #0) > Can this version requirement be downgraded to 3.0.6? In fact, what we know of as a strict version requirement is >= 3.0.0. We used 3.0.7 in the spec file due to Q/A reasons: that's the rsync version we did extensive testing with and we know it works. We'll investigate the issue and see if we can lower the version.
whats the status of the bug?
rsync version dependency >= 3.0.0. Patch available in codebase.
Verified: rsync-3.0.6-5.el6_0.1.x86_64 available in RHS-2.0-20120529.n.0
