Cause: SSSD only read the home directory value from the LDAP entry and treated it as definitive Consequence: Some client machines might need to override the home directory value that is defined in the LDAP entry because e.g. they might not have access to that centrally defined homedir Fix: The SSSD introduced a new option "override_homedir" that allows the administrator to define a per-client override values for the home directory attribute Result: The administrator is able to define home directory values on a per-client basis.

Description of problem:


       override_homedir (string)
           Override the user's home directory. You can either provide an absolute value or a template. In the template, the following sequences are substituted:

           %u
               login name

           %U
               UID number

           %d
               domain name

           %f
               fully qualified user name (user@domain)

           %%
               a literal '%'

           This option can also be set per-domain.
