yum remove PackageKit lists all the KDE desktop as dependencies, offering to remove the whole desktop with the packagekit. This is weird, because a desktop does not depend on the package manager, it's the other way round. packagekit-qt may depend on Qt/KDE, but how do digikam, ktorrent and kwin depend on PK?

Please, fix the dependencies of the packagekit daemon in the KDE version of Fedora.

this change will get rolled into the next update released (hopefully when phonon, phonon-gstreamer 4.6 lands soonish)

Uhm, I though we had decided to keep the dependency in F16 due to upgrade path concerns…
