+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #705153 +++ The bug has reappeared with Fedora 16. I uses pdfshuffler on Fedora 15 and preupgraded to Fedora 16. now pdfshuffler show black pages for every pdf pages. Using Fedora with kernel on 3.1.5-6.fc16.x86_64 with Package pypoppler.x86_64 0:0.12.1-16.fc16 Package pdfshuffler.noarch 0:0.5.1-1.fc16
It's better to merge this bug with the bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=733853. The cause is the same -- current poppler lib has lost functions on which pdfshuffler is based. Pdfshuffler should migrate to gtk3 but now poppler lib does not expose enough functions through pygobject interface (my experience about a month ago). :( Use pdfchain for a while.
This bug is causing problems for me as well, since pdfshuffler is well-liked by several users here. Faced with forcing people to figure out something like pdfchain (which does not do the same thing as far as I can tell) but noticing that there is upstream pdfshuffler development activity, I went ahead and put together a package with the current SVN snapshot and it appears at first glance to work OK. I guess I can supply my package if someone wants it. Or I'm also happy to commit my work. I'll attach a patch to the current rawhide spec, though it still needs a small bit of work to clean up a couple of rpmlint complaints.
Created attachment 557740 [details] Patch updating rawhide to the current SVN version.
It's been a while; any response? Still using the upstream snapshot here without issue, and no new code appears to have been committed since then. I can understand some reluctance to package a snapshot, but what's currently in Fedora is pretty much useless so I don't see how it could be worse. I'm a provenpackager; just give me the word and I'll commit it. I'll even sign up to comaintain if you like, though I can't say how much time I'll have long term to help out.
With the referenced snapshot (from 2012-01-26) I have an issue - it crashes with multiple files drop in. Beside that the snapshot works. Jason, if you can, you should, I think, please. :)
