Description unsolvedcypher 2011-12-23 19:56:27 UTC
Description of problem:
In GNOME Shell, to switch workspaces, the shortcut is Control+Alt+[up or down arrow]. To make the current window go to another workspace, the shortcut is Control+Alt+Shift+[up or down arrow]. In Fedora, the latter does not work.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a window
2. Open a window in another workspace
3. Pres Control+Alt+Shift+[up or down arrow]

Actual results: Nothing

Expected results: Current window switches workspaces

Additional details: I filed this bug under mutter, which is what I understand to be the thing in charge of workspaces. If this is under the wrong category, please email me and I'll change it (or change it yourself, if you can).

One cause can be that you have Alt+Shift (or something else that interferes with ctrl+alt+shift+arrow) set as keyboard layout switcher. Try disabling it if it helps.

Oh, thanks for pointing that out. That solved the problem. Is there a troubleshooting page that this solution can be added to for future users experiencing this "bug"? Also, how do I close this bug?
  Thanks!
