Description of problem (Dump provided by the Details button on the SELinux Alert Browser window): SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/boinc_client from read access on the fifo_file fifo_file. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests *************************** If you believe that boinc_client should be allowed read access on the fifo_file fifo_file by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep boinc_client /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:boinc_t:s0 Target Context system_u:system_r:boinc_t:s0 Target Objects fifo_file [ fifo_file ] Source boinc_client Source Path /usr/bin/boinc_client Port <Unknown> Host homenet06.homenet Source RPM Packages boinc-client-6.12.35-1.r24014svn.fc16 Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.10.0-67.fc16 Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name homenet06.homenet Platform Linux homenet06.homenet 3.1.6-1.fc16.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Dec 21 22:41:17 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 943 First Seen Mon 26 Dec 2011 12:07:22 PM CST Last Seen Mon 26 Dec 2011 12:16:37 PM CST Local ID 4ecfdaf8-2e6d-4044-8f07-3fd2cf25f6ea Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1324923397.265:144198): avc: denied { read } for pid=1037 comm="boinc_client" path="pipe:[17948]" dev=pipefs ino=17948 scontext=system_u:system_r:boinc_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:system_r:boinc_t:s0 tclass=fifo_file type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1324923397.265:144198): arch=x86_64 syscall=read success=no exit=EACCES a0=4 a1=7f1788b1c000 a2=2000 a3=7fff9051e570 items=0 ppid=1 pid=1037 auid=4294967295 uid=992 gid=989 euid=992 suid=992 fsuid=992 egid=989 sgid=989 fsgid=989 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm=boinc_client exe=/usr/bin/boinc_client subj=system_u:system_r:boinc_t:s0 key=(null) Hash: boinc_client,boinc_t,boinc_t,fifo_file,read audit2allow Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.10.0-67.fc16.noarch How reproducible: The SELinux error icon appeared after restarting following updating the system. Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info: I am unable to use the Report Bug feature on the SELinux Alert Browser window. The button does not function now. Probably associated with ongoing SELinux/BOINC issues.
I have selected Ignore on all of the SELinux bugs I reported this morning to prevent the SELinux error icon from appearing constantly. Errors are appearing at a very rapid rate on this bug and my H/D is being beaten to death. RLK
