Description NM 2011-12-28 16:17:07 UTC
I have the followint packages and configuration:

gnome-shell --version returns: GNOME Shell 3.2.1
and
Installed Packages
Name : gnome-shell-extension-cpu-temperature
Arch : noarch
Version : 0
Release : 0.3.git1f471c7.fc16
Size : 8.7 k
Repo : installed
From repo : updates
Summary : A gnome-shell extension to show the current temperature of CPU
URL :
https://github.com/xtranophilist/gnome-shell-extension-cpu-temperature/
License : GPLv3+
Description : Gnome Shell Extensions that adds an applet on the panel which
reveals
: current CPU temperature in Degree Celsius and Fahrenheit.

No applet appears even after togling 'ON' gnome-tweak-tool and reloading the shell via "Alt-F2 r".
I am on:
Linux a1.home 3.1.2-1.fc16.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Nov 22 09:00:57 UTC 2011 x86_64

The error message Alt-F2->lg->Errors reports:
'text.split is not a function.'

Any advise ?
Thanks.

Install the latest version from:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/82/cpu-temperature-indicator/

Comment 2 NM 2011-12-29 14:30:28 UTC
Dear Dipesh Acharya,

Thanks for the link but I need a little more guidance. Your link opens the page with user comments and the following link:

    http://motorscript.com/gnome-shell-extension-cpu-temperature/

This, second link recomends to use command:

yum -y install gnome-shell-extension-cpu-temperature

which reports that I already have the latest version.

I guess I am missing something ...
In addition, can you please specify what version I am looking for?

Thank you in advance,
NM

Using yum is probably the easiest way.
But this repo takes some time to be updated.

You are recommended to use either https://github.com/xtranophilist/gnome-shell-extension-cpu-temperature or https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/82/cpu-temperature-indicator/

You didn't read that page completely.
Few lines below, it is written that:
"But you are recommended to install using the following instructions so that you always have the latest version. ...."

Comment 4 NM 2011-12-29 15:32:19 UTC
OK, thanks. will do.

Comment 5 NM 2011-12-29 16:05:19 UTC
It worked but only after uninstalling the older version. Above installes locally vs globally via 'Package Manager for GNOME'.

Thanks again.
