Comment 1 Dave Jones 2011-12-30 19:41:19 UTC
was this after a hibernate/suspend ?

Comment 2 Jeremy Rosengren 2011-12-30 20:08:10 UTC
I had recently resumed after a suspend, yes, maybe a few minutes after resuming.

Comment 3 Eric Sandeen 2011-12-30 23:23:44 UTC
bug #766277 was similar but the reporter closed it.

2455         if (IS_ROOT(dentry) &&
2456             (dentry->d_name.len != 1 || dentry->d_name.name[0] != '/')) {
2457 WARN(1, "Root dentry has weird name <%.*s>\n",
2458                      (int) dentry->d_name.len, dentry->d_name.name);
2459         }

you got ":Root dentry has weird name <>" i.e. a 0-length string, same as the other reporter. Not sure offhand what might cause this, I'm still suspecting memory corruption via hibernate somehow.
