Description Jonathan Corbet 2011-12-30 17:32:12 UTC
Description of problem:

F16 and Rawhide currently offer python-quixote 2.4, but that version is quite old and does not work with the python 2.7 that Fedora ships.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
python-quixote2.4-14.fc15

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run a quixote application
2. Watch in appalled horror as it collapses in flames.
3.

Actual results:

Unsightly tracebacks in the PTL compiler

Expected results:

A working application

Additional info:

Quixote 2.7 works great with Python 2.7.

Retiring, python-quixote is dead upstream and has instead merged into DurusWorks. If anyone has interest in that project they should file a review request for their package.

Comment 2 Jonathan Corbet 2012-01-15 03:41:53 UTC
That is actually not true; 2.7 was released in March 2011; I'm running 2.8b1 - released a couple of weeks ago - now. It can be found at quixote.ca.

That said, I'd say the chances are good that I'm the only user of it, and I can easily install my own version. So it may still not be worth Fedora's time to update it.
