:I lose wireless connection on default installation.
:Restarting NetworkManager applet does not help.
:NetworkManager msg. "Wireless is disabled by hardward swtich"
:I have to restart the system.
:
:The PC uses 2 different wirless network cards, with 2 different version of the open wireless driver bc43. Could one driver conflict with the other?
:
:Reason: the broadband card in the pc is fairly old. I have installed the driver manually. I can see the wireless connection, but it does not connect to my accecc point.
:I use an external broadcom wirless card in a PCMCIA slot which works out of the box with the default
:b43 from my distribution. With this configuration, I can connect to my access point.

do you have additional messages in the logs before this backtrace about timeouts maybe ?

Comment 3 nomnex 2012-02-11 05:59:46 UTC
Could you tell me what command to run to copy the logs (or its location and file name). I will attache to the bug report. Thank you.

Comment 4 John W. Linville 2012-02-13 15:07:10 UTC

Thank you. I have attached dmseg output to the message.

Comment 6 Josh Boyer 2012-06-07 15:21:08 UTC
Is this still happening with the 2.6.43/3.3 kernel?

lastest dmesg log

Thank you for the feedback.

The wireless connection kept interupting randomely, after a few hous, yes. About 3 updates ago, I use a wire rj45 to connect to the modem.

If you keep the bug open (I am still on F15), I will try a few days, using the wireless card, and report with the lastest kernel

[mt@nh28d ~]$ uname -r
2.6.43.5-2.fc15.i686

Comment 8 Josh Boyer 2012-07-11 17:50:40 UTC
Fedora 15 has reached it's end of life as of June 26, 2012. As a result, we will not be fixing any remaining bugs found in Fedora 15.

In the event that you have upgraded to a newer release and the bug you reported is still present, please reopen the bug and set the version field to the newest release you have encountered the issue with. Before doing so, please ensure you are testing the latest kernel update in that release and attach any new and relevant information you may have gathered.

Thank you for taking the time to file a report. We hope newer versions of Fedora suit your needs.
