From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020830 Description of problem: Request for an RPM to update nfs-utils from v0.3.3 to v1.0.1 for RH 2.1 AS. nfs-utils v1.0.1 provides greatly improved performance which would be beneficial for Oracle9iRAC running RH 2.1 AS. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: nfs-utils v1.0.1 provides greatly improved performance which would be beneficial for Oracle9iRAC running RH 2.1 AS. nfs-utils v1.0.1 provides a 6x increase in performance over nfs-utils v0.3.3.. Additional info:
What are the critical improved areas? As general policy, we don't upgrade major versions of core packages in the middle of a release, and that goes doubly-so for Advanced Server, but if there are specific changes in 1.0.1 which are good enough to count essentially as bug-fixes against 0.3.3 performance problems then it could possibly be considered.
Still needs info if we're not to close this outright. Reassigning to our current nfs maintainer for judgement on that.
