This is intentional. The fonts that Red Hat installs in that directory are installed in postscript form /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/ and the Type1 forms render bettter. All local or user installed fonts should go in /usr/share/fonts or ~/.fonts/ |
