Should be at least in the documentation explicitly stated - if you use inXsd for validation purposes (available for any transport) the service is automatically exposed as Web Service. To disable this functionality use ...

The Programmers Guide already contains

"Declaration of the contract schemas will automatically enable the exposure of the ESB service through a webservice endpoint, the contract for which can be located through the contract web application"
