Date of First Response: 2008-09-15 11:34:24 project_key: SOA I've deployed a QS, sent a message and when opening " SimpleListener JBoss ESB statistics", the number of messages shows up properly but Bytes Processed is still zero (screen1). When I navigate deeper to particular actions, I see this metric showing up correctly (screen2).

It looks like an ESB project bug, because it's related to a particular service metric, not a global metric used in the console
It happens also in the JON console. I've deployed the helloworld QS and the metric "Overall Service Message Count" shows the same value as "Messages Successfully Processed", however "Overall Service Bytes Processed" shows zero instead of the value of "Bytes Processed" (see screen3 and screen4) BTW, what should be the value? The sum of all bytes processed by *all* services?

Add more Overall totals.
I have 4 actions in the pipeline. action3 throws an exception. screen3 shows metrics for this action - "Overall Bytes Failed" is not collected. Same for aggregated metrics (screen4). Moreover on screen4 I see that 1001 messages have been successfully processed (that's, true - by action1 and action2) and 1001 messages failed (that's also true - because of action3) - however this is a little bit misleading, isn't it?

Fixed action failed bytes - make sure we update the failed bytes hash correctly and update the counter when an action fails.
The "Overall Bytes xxx" metrics are collected at the actions level (screen5), but not at the service level (screen6).

added the the 4.3.CP02 release notes as resolved: JBESB-2043 - The ESB JON plugin now collects the "Overall Bytes" metrics at the service level as well as the action level.
Tried it out with JON-2.2.0 It's almost working. Screen shots "service.png", "actions.png" and "action.png" shows that metrics (overall bytes) are displayed properly on particular levels. However there's one issue left - if I have an action that fails (throws an exception). The management console shows it properly ("esbConsoleOverallProcessedBytes.png" and "esbConsoleOverallFailedBytes.png"). The JON console shows it properly at the actions level ("actionsLevelOverallMetrics.png") but not on the service level ("serviceLevelOverallMetrics.png") - "Overall Bytes Failed" is zero.
