From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20021003 Description of problem: Booting Psyche errata kernels (2.4.18-17.8.0 and 2.4.18-18.8.0) results in multiple resource allocation errors for several PCI devices. Drivers for those devices will not load. Problem does not occur in original 2.4.18-14 kernel. Problem may be related to Symbios 53c810 SCSI host adapter (08:00.0) installed in IBM Thinkpad docking station. Problem did not occur when booting undocked with 2.4.18-17.8.0 kernel. Have not yet checked undocked bootup since upgrading to 2.4.18-18.8.0 kernel. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Place IBM Thinkpad A22p in docking station w/Symbios 53c810 host adapter. 2. Boot to 2.4.18-17.8.0 or 2.4.18-18.8.0 kernel 3. See dmesg results below Actual Results: dmesg reports: PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 08:00.0 PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 1 of device 08:00.0 PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 08:01.0 PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 1 of device 08:01.0 PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 2 of device 08:01.0 PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 3 of device 08:01.0 PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 4 of device 08:01.0 PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 08:02.0 PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 08:02.1 PCI: Failed to allocate resource 0(0-ff) for 08:00.0 PCI: Failed to allocate resource 1(0-ff) for 08:00.0 PCI: Failed to allocate resource 4(0-f) for 08:01.0 PCI: Failed to allocate resource 0(0-fff) for 08:02.0 PCI: Failed to allocate resource 0(0-fff) for 08:02.1 Limiting direct PCI/PCI transfers.
