Description John Sefler 2012-01-19 20:31:54 UTC
Description of problem:
The subscription-manager fact "migration.migrated_from" should not be written when install-num-migrate-to-rhsm is executed with the --dryrun/-d option.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
[root@jsefler-onprem-5server ~]# rpm -q subscription-manager-migration
subscription-manager-migration-0.98.13-1.git.0.9bcbcab.el5

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
[root@jsefler-onprem-5server ~]# subscription-manager facts --list | grep migr
[root@jsefler-onprem-5server ~]# install-num-migrate-to-rhsm -d -i 0000000e0017fc01
Copying /usr/share/rhsm/product/RHEL-5/Client-Workstation-x86_64-f812997e0eda-71.pem to /etc/pki/product/71.pem
Copying /usr/share/rhsm/product/RHEL-5/Client-Client-x86_64-6587edcf1c03-68.pem to /etc/pki/product/68.pem
[root@jsefler-onprem-5server ~]# subscription-manager facts --list | grep migr
migration.migrated_from: install_number
[root@jsefler-onprem-5server ~]#

^^^ THE "migration.migrated_from: install_number" FACT SHOULD NOT BE THERE UNTIL "install-num-migrate-to-rhsm" IS EXECUTED WITHOUT THE DRYRUN OPTION.

Comment 1 RHEL Program Management 2012-01-23 05:12:06 UTC
Since RHEL 5.8 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains
unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as
exception or blocker.

Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the
next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
