Description of problem: After yum updating and getting the new 3.2.1-3.fc16.x86_64 kernel has left my system un-bootable on this kernel due to the arcmsr module for Areca RAID controllers being missing. This module is present on 3.1.9-1.fc16.x86_64 the previous kernel version. [root@bajor ~]# dir /lib/modules/3.1.9-1.fc16.x86_64/kernel/drivers/scsi/arcmsr/ total 56K drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 4.0K Jan 16 19:09 . drwxr-xr-x. 27 root root 4.0K Jan 16 19:09 .. -rwxr--r--. 1 root root 48K Jan 14 00:55 arcmsr.ko [root@bajor ~]# dir /lib/modules/3.2.1-3.fc16.x86_64/kernel/drivers/scsi/arcmsr ls: cannot access /lib/modules/3.2.1-3.fc16.x86_64/kernel/drivers/scsi/arcmsr: No such file or directory Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.2.1-3.fc16.x86_64
I think this one was mistakenly disabled in the great module purging of 2012. I'll reenable it
Fixed in Fedora git. Will be included in the next build.
