Description of problem: CUPS doesn't return printer's name with dbus signal JobCompleted. The name is empty. It is used in gnome-settings-daemon's print notifications plugin. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): cups-1.5.0-22.fc16 How reproducible: always on my machines Steps to Reproduce: 1. login with gnome-shell wm (gnome failsafe mode is also sufficient) 2. echo . | lp -H hold -d PrinterName 3. cancel JobId Actual results: Notification without the name of the printer (Printing cancelled "job name" on "") Expected results: Notification with the name of the printer (Printing cancelled "job name" on MyPrinter) Additional info: I haven't tried that with the rest of job-states
Thanks, reported upstream. I think this is only the case when the job hasn't yet been assigned to a printer, i.e. it's held or pending.
This has been fixed upstream now.
