comment:        I disconnected my iPOD Nano 3G from its USB cradle since it wasn't mounting properly.  As soon as I did this, X died on my left monitor (connected to graphics adapter on motherboard). My right monitor still had graphical output but was frozen. The computer wouldn't respond at all and wouldn't even allow me to change to a virtual terminal or reboot via Ctrl+Alt+Delete. I powered it down manually via the power button.
