Description of problem: Probe Log Agent : log size - does not show size of log Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): spacewalk 1.7 nightly How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create probe Log Agent : log size for /var/log/messages 2. on monitored machine do chown root:nocpulse /var/log/messages; chmod g+r /var/log/messages 3. push scout config Actual results: there is some ploted value on first execution probe, but then graph show 0 size of file although it is 100k big. Expected results: graph which show real size of file
The result of investigation is - "size" metric is in reality "size increment from the last check". So in the case above 0 increment si expected. I agree that current desctiontion of the probe (as well as probe Log Agent: Lines) is misleading and should be changed to something like "Size Increment" (resp. "Lines Increment") for better understanding.
Agree - can we update the description to better match the functionality of the probe code.
Fixed in Spacewalk master, ab041f279e3b44cacdc09338e4701110acfa9ee4.
