Description Charles Curley 2002-11-29 19:04:47 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020620

Description of problem:
The man page for rpm 4.1 reports that to remve signature checking from checking
signatures of an RPM, one should use "--nogpg" or "--nopgp". This does not work.

Running "rpm --help | less" indicates that the correct way to do this is with
the option "--nosignature", and this works.

Suggested fix: edit the man page.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
4.1

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. "man rpm".
2. Search on "nogpg".
3.

Actual Results: man page indicates that one should use "--nogpg" or "--nopgp"
to turn off gpg signature checking when checking signatures.

Expected Results: man page should indicate that one should use "--nosignatures"
to turn off gpg signature checking when checking signatures.

Additional info:

Are there other changes in the program that should be propagated to the man page?

--nogpg/--nopgp/--nomd5 all updated in rpm-4.2-0.13 when built.

No.
