restorecon -R -v /usr/share/cups

Looks like something installed content in your homedir and then mv'd it to /usr/share/cups.

Dear, I need help!
I can't install a Samsung ML-1865w laser printer. Samsung do not have support in Linux (Samsung= Shit)

I do not know ho is the Cups, because I'm a beginer linux user.

At all error are cause when I send a print page:

   SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/cupsd from read access on the None /usr/share/cups/model/samsung/cms/CLP-610sc.cts.
SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/cupsd from execute access on the None /usr/lib/cups/backend/mfp.

Samsung drives in:
http://www.samsung.com/br/consumer/it-products/printers-multifunctions/mono-printer/ML-1865W/XAZ/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support

Thank you for your help!

Comment 3 Miroslav Grepl 2012-02-15 13:33:09 UTC
You need to execute this command in your terminal as root

$ su -c 'restorecon -R -v /usr/share/cups/model/ /usr/lib/cups/backend/'

will fix SELinux security label for files in this directory. And then CUPS with cupsd_t label can access to this file which should have cupsd_etc_t label.
